I need help in correctly setting up a static IP address on a server with Ubuntu. Netplan seemed to have configured it as in the examples, but after rebooting everything is reset or the network stops working. I suspect that I made a mistake in the configuration somewhere, but I can’t find it. Can anyone tell me how to correctly and reliably register a static IP so that the system does not glitch?

Double-check that you’re using proper indentation and that the file is saved in /etc/netplan/ with a .yaml extension. After editing, run sudo netplan apply and watch for errors. You can also test first with sudo netplan try so it rolls back if something is wrong.
If you ever need a break from debugging, I recently came across the best website for windows and doors repair for a separate home project. Totally different topic, but it’s a solid resource if you’re dealing with any home maintenance on the side.
